The WMU Library is an outstanding resource for research and learning in the maritime field.  It specialises in the University’s core subjects of maritime administration, maritime safety and environmental protection, maritime education and training and port and shipping management.

In support of teaching and research, the Library has a collection of over 19,000 books, reports, multimedia documents (cassettes, CD-ROMs, videos etc.), including 1600 dissertations by WMU students.  In addition, over 350 periodical titles are taken, many of them available to university staff and students through the Internet.  The on-line editions can be accessed through the Periodicals List.

Students are trained in library skills, so they can identify sources of information including accessing on-line hosts. For example, the Library currently has access to a variety of hosts that provide bibliographical databases. The inter-library loan service enables us to borrow from other sources literature that is not held in the Library. Students are permitted to use and borrow material from the libraries belonging to the City of Malmö, Malmö University and the University of Lund.

The Library also maintains the list of publications by WMU’s staff and students.
