Current Financial Support

The Öresund Bridge connecting Malmö with Copenhagen
World Maritime University is an independent academic maritime institution under the auspices of the United Nations. As such our students cannot claim study support from the Swedish government or any other EU state.

Students are often funded directly by their own companies, governments or national funding agencies. Some students are also funded under multinational, bilateral or national schemes; these arrangements are made by the appropriate government agency in the applicant’s home country.

Sponsors can choose whether to pay the inclusive full fellowship fee (EUR 36,000) or just to pay the tuition fee (EUR 16,000)  to the University, and then make payments directly to the student to cover living expenses.

WMU Publications

WMU Publications has been established as the route for publishing of scholarly books on maritime affairs written by WMU staff and external maritime experts linked to the University.
