Class of 2017 Inauguration – Record Enrolment and Record Female Students

On 19 September, the inauguration of the Class of 2017 MSc in Maritime Affairs, took place in the WMU Sasakawa Auditorium. For the new academic year that began today, 130 students are enrolled in the 14-month programme making this the largest class in the history of WMU.

The inauguration of the Malmö MSc in Maritime Affairs, Class of 2016, took place at WMU on 14 September. A total of 108 students are enrolled in the 14-month program, and it is expected that seven additional students will join the Class of 2016 in January for the MSc accelerated program.

Propeller Donated by Nakashima Propeller Co., Ltd.

On 5 June, Mr. Motoyoshi Nakashima, President, Nakashima Propeller Co., Ltd., was at WMU for a ceremonial inauguration of the propeller that his company donated to WMU and the City of Malmö. The ceremonial ribbon cutting was done by Mr. Nakashima and Kent Andersson, Chairman, Malmö City Council.
