WMU Contributes to IFLOS Summer Academy

In support of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year between WMU and the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea (IFLOS), WMU President, Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry and Associate Professor, Dr. Maria Carolina Romero Lares, both contributed as lecturers for the distinguished IFLOS Summer Academy held at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, Germany from 26 July to 21 August.

This was Dr. Doumbia-Henry’s second time participating in the IFLOS Summer Academy as a member of the Faculty, her first as President of WMU. Her lecture on "ILO Consolidated Maritime Labour Convention" was delivered on 18 August. Dr. Romero Lares is a 2009 Alumnus of the Summer Academy and returned this year as a lecturer on 5 August to deliver an "Ocean Governance" workshop.
