Annukka Pekkarinen

Research Assistant
Masters degree (MRM) with specialization in Coastal and Marine Management


She completed her Masters thesis working with maritime transport and Marine Spatial Planning in University of Turku, Centre for Maritime studies in 2011-2012. After her graduation in 2012 she has worked on board of whale watching boats in Húsavík, Iceland and as project coordinator in Åbo Akademi University, with ecosystem modeling of phosphorus release in the Finnish and Swedish archipelagos. 
In January 2013 she joined World Maritime University to work with inventory of dangerous goods in Swedish ports as well as compiling the North Sea Alien Species database in the North Sea Ballast Water Opportunity-project.
