Jannicke Steen has broad management experience from the maritime industry; primarily within people and organisational development, both for sea and shore. She started her career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heading the maritime section at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in the Philippines. In 2010, Steen moved to ship management and Grieg Star’s maritime HR operations, which she led for almost a decade. After a stint as Head of HR & Administration at Grieg Green, Steen took on the role of VP of People & Performance at Grieg Maritime Group in 2021.

Steen serves on the board of the Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines, which was established by the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association. Through its initiative, the Norwegian Training Center, NMFPI has educated close to 6,000 seafarers from the Philippines. Passionate about equality and the benefits of diversity, Steen took the initiative to develop SheWorthy, an informal network focusing on the personal and professional development of female seafarers and professionals in Grieg Maritime Group and the maritime industry.

Jannicke Steen holds a Master’s degree in International Marketing and Management from BI Norwegian Business School and an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell.
