This third edition of the textbook for instructors, lecturers, and educators working with STCW in the maritime education and training sector has been revised, extended, and updated.

Chapters provide pedagogical guidance for instructors on course design, delivery methods, instructional media, student and course assessment, the use of marine simulation, and quality assurance fundamentals. The chapters dealing with distance learning and changing technology in MET have been extended and updated.
