Baltic Master II is recognized as a flagship project in the European Union’s Baltic Sea Strategy and is an international project with partners from the nine different Baltic coastal countries. The project aims to improve maritime safety by integrating local and regional stakeholders. The project Lead Partner is the Blekinge Region (Sweden) and the World maritime University is a Partner under several projects that focus on the Baltic Sea Region and how it is affected by issues concerning pollution prevention, coastal zone management, and on-land responses to an oil spill originating at sea. The project includes the development of management tools such as oil spill simulation exercises, environmental sensitivity mapping and community contingency plans. In addition, Baltic Master II is also focusing on effective maritime generated waste management in ports.

WMU Publications

WMU Publications has been established as the route for publishing of scholarly books on maritime affairs written by WMU staff and external maritime experts linked to the University.
