Sabyasachi HajaraSabyasachi Hajara, Chairman and Managing Director of The Shipping Corporation of India, started his professional career with SCI in 1973 after obtaining a post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, where he secured second position in the order of merit and a place in the institute's roll of honours. After joining SCI he obtained a degree in law from Kolkata University and diplomas in shipping and in international maritime law and marine insurance from the Norwegian Shipping Academy.Mr Hajara has represented the Indian shipping industry at international forums including the ILO and IMO.He is currently vice-president of the Indian National Shipowners Association and has been vice-president and director of the International Shipping Federation.He is on the board of governors of the World Maritime University.
