Customized EMM Programme Launched for Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM)

The World Maritime University (WMU) and DNV GL have announced a customized delivery of the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Executive Maritime Management (EMM) via distance learning for Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM). The customized delivery for BSM will commence on 7 March 2016 and over a five-year period will educate five cohorts of participants in the 11-month programme.

“WMU is a resource for the maritime industry and the University is pleased to partner in the delivery of this customized programme for BSM to offer career development for their current and future managers to enhance their skills and capacities to more efficiently and effectively handle the demands of today’s maritime industry,” stated Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, WMU President.

The EMM programme is designed as a “Boot Camp” for managers and draws on WMU’s academic and research expertise and DNV GL’s experience of best practice in the maritime industry. Topics of critical importance to the maritime industry covered in the programme include global maritime regulatory and management issues in the shipping sector, strategic financial tools, human resource management, management of safety, security and risk, and maritime environmental technology.
