MoU with AMET University, Chennai, India

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WMU and AMET University located in Chennai, India, was signed on 22 February. Captain S. Bhardwaj, Professor Emeritus and Former Vice Chancellor signed on behalf of AMET University. The Agreement enables linkages in the field of maritime safety, security, and marine and maritime environmental management. Efforts between both parties will focus on academic information exchange, exchange of faculty members, education and training for AMET faculty and students at WMU or potential WMU Professional Development Course offerings in Chennai, and collaboration in joint research and technical and scientific programs and projects where feasible. It is notable that the Chancellor of AMET is E.E. Mitropoulos, former IMO Secretary-General and Chancellor of WMU.
