MoU with Jordan Ministry of Transport

On 1 April during the Maritime Women: Global Leadership International Conference, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Academic Cooperation was signed with the Ministry of Transport of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Agreement allows for one Jordanian student to study in the Malmö M.Sc. program annually, made possible by funding from the Jordanian private sector, via efforts by the Ministry. In addition, the MoU opens possibilities for WMU to provide professional development courses in Jordan, collaboration on distance education, and the potential for the Ministry to make possible the hosting of week-long field studies in Jordan for WMU students. The five-year duration Agreement will come into effect with endorsement by the Jordanian cabinet.

The MoU was signed by HE Dr. Lina Shbeeb, Minister of Transport for Jordan, and WMU President, Dr. Björn Kjerfve. WMU alumnus, Hussein Souob, Managing Director for the Arab Bridge Maritime Company, was a witness to the signing.
