MoU with Philippine Coast Guard

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Academic Cooperation was completed between the Philippine Coast Guard and WMU on 1 January 2014. Under the Agreement, WMU will accept one or more qualified candidates, sponsored by the Philippine Coast Guard, into the Malmö M.Sc. program. The Agreement has a five-year duration and was signed via correspondence by alumnus VADM Rodolfo D. Isorena (M.Sc. 2002 MSEP), Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, and WMU President, Dr. Björn Kjerfve.

The Agreement is the third with the Philippines since the July signing of a MoU with the Philippine Ports Authority, and a MoU with the Maritime Administrative Authority (MARINA) that was signed in November. With 130 graduates, the Philippines is third in terms of the countries with the most WMU alumni.
