Anas worked as a captain of a ship in Jordan navy, navigator on board a merchant ship, and planner and operation staff in counter-piracy missions in Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. Armed with various skills in the maritime transport field such as courses and hands-on experience on port and ship operation worldwide; Anas worked in South Mediterranean Transport Action Plan, and Bonus Baltimari project on maritime risk and policymaking. Besides, currently, Anas is a Ph.D. candidate researching on port decarbonization. Anas published various research studies, including port sustainable supply chains and its contribution to UN SDGs (IAME conference), port’s technical and operational decarbonization measures (Marine Pollution Bulletin), and Maritime risk research and its uptake in policymaking, a case study of the Baltic Sea Region (Marine Science and Engineering), among others.
