Ocean and coastal resources are essential for the survival of many species, as well as for nations’ economies, food security, health and culture. The combined effects of human activity and climate change are pushing many coastal areas to their tipping point. Once this point is reached any changes are irreversible.



As a project partner in PartiSEApate, Region Skåne has contracted with WMU to assist in developing models on how multi‐level governance can be realized in Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) within the Pomeranian Bight (SE, DE, PL). Through VASAB (Vision and Strategies around the Baltic Sea) with the Maritime Institute Gdansk as the leading partner, 9 project partners will cooperate to test and develop instruments for multi‐level governance, leading to recommendations.
