Dr. Aspasia Pastra Receives Greek International Women Award in Shipping

Dr. Aspasia Pastra, Assistant Professor at the World Maritime University (WMU) was awarded the Greek International Women Award (GIWA) 2025 in the category of Shipping.

After being shortlisted by the judging committee among leading professionals in the field, Dr. Pastra advanced to the final phase of the competition through a public voting process. Her achievement was formally recognized during the 4th GIWA Awards Ceremony held on 24 November in Athens.

The Greek International Women Awards (GIWA) highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of Greek women around the world who excel across diverse professional sectors. Dr. Pastra’s recognition reflects her significant contributions to maritime research, education, and policy engagement through her work at WMU and as part of the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute.
