China Classification Society Visit

WMU received a group of 8 from the China Classification Society (CCS) led by Mr. Li Kejun, Chairman and President in Malmö on 1 August. The other participants were Mr. Zhu Kai, Vice President, Mr. Yang Guang, General Manager of Legal Department, Mr. Chen Daoyu, General Manager of International Cooperation, Mr. Li Hua, President CCS European Center, and Mr. Shan Xuejun, General Manager of Göteborg Office. In addition, the CCS team was accompanied by Mr. Wang Hongwei, Director of International Organizations Division of the Ministry of Transport of PRC and a 2002 graduate of WMU.

CCS and WMU agreed to establish a MoU for cooperation on a number of anticipated teaching activities and maritime projects. Further, President Li announced a major gift in celebration of the new WMU university facility in 2013 and agreed to send several future employees to WMU for post-graduate education.
