EMM Programme Marks 10-Year Anniversary

The World Maritime University (WMU) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) marked the 10-year anniversary of the Executive Maritime Management (EMM) postgraduate diploma programme with a celebratory alumni event held during Singapore Maritime Week.

Since its inception in 2015, the EMM programme has cultivated a global network of over 200 graduates who now serve in leadership roles across the maritime sector—including shipping companies, classification societies, port authorities, and regulatory institutions. The anniversary celebration brought together alumni from nearly every cohort, alongside WMU faculty, DNV representatives, current students, and members of the wider WMU community.

The event showcased the profound and lasting impact of the EMM programme on participants' professional journeys. Alumni credited the programme with strengthening their strategic decision-making, broadening their international perspectives, and opening doors to higher levels of responsibility.

As the maritime industry continues to undergo rapid transformation driven by decarbonization, digitalization, and increasing global trade complexity, the EMM programme remains at the forefront of professional education. It prepares professionals to lead with confidence, innovation, and global insight.

This milestone celebrated the success of the EMM programme partnership between WMU and DNV, and reaffirmed the shared vision to shape the next generation of maritime leaders and drive sustainable growth across the sector.
