EPDC Delivered at MARINA, Philippines

From 9-13 March, WMU delivered an Executive Professional Development Course for the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in the Republic of Philippines. Associate Professor Michael Manuel led the course entitled Training Course for Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers. The five-day course was delivered to 25 participants, including several WMU alumni. Based on the requirements of STCW Regulation I/6 and STCW Code A-I/6, and with a consideration of the contents of IMO Model Course 3.12, the course focused on knowledge and skills for trainees to administer, supervise and monitor training and assessment of seafarer competence.
