KR-CON Donation to WMU

For the second year in a row, the Korean Register (KR) of Shipping donated sets of KR-CON for the use of students, faculty, and staff. KR-CON is an international, award-winning database program of IMO instruments issued by the Korean Register of Shipping under an agreement with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It is an increasingly valuable resource on board ships and has gained a worldwide reputation.

On 26 February, Mr. Ji Hyun Park of KR was at WMU to present the KR-CON system and distribute the 170 sets of USB-version 11. The overall monetary value of the gift is $214,200. WMU expresses its gratitude to the Korean Register of Shipping, and its Chairman and CEO, Dr. Kong-Gyun Oh who serves as a member of the WMU Board of Governors, for their continued generosity and support.
