WMU Journal Evolves

On 8 July 2010, WMU signed an agreement that the Springer Publishing Company will take over the publication of the WMU Journal of Maritime Affairs from January 2011. This formal agreement with a world-wide and well-established academic publisher like Springer provides the framework that the Journal needs in order to grow and expand its position globally. The new arrangements will also make the WMU Journal a more attractive place to authors to publish their work.

The publication of the Journal will continue as usual twice a year in April and October, although the electronic version of the Journal will change slightly. There will be now at least four open access articles per issue, which will increase citations of the WMU Journal. In addition, all manuscripts accepted for publication will immediately be available online, enabling authors to refer to their publication in a shorter period of time than many other Journals.
