WMU to Host 41st GESAMP Session

WMU will be hosting the 41st session of GESAMP (the Joint Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environmental Protection), from 1 to 4 September in Malmö. GESAMP is a UN inter-agency advisory mechanism, and consists of world-leading experts providing independent advice on current and emerging issues in relation to the marine environment. The Group was founded in 1969, and is currently sponsored by nine UN organizations – IMO, IAEA, FAO, UNDP, UNESCO-IOC, UNEP, UNIDO, WMO and the UN.

The session is closed and by invitation only. However, an open seminar will be held in the afternoon of Wednesday 3 September, on the topic of “Maritime activities and noise: Sources and Impacts”. The seminar will be streamed live at 1400 CET via this link https://sites.google.com/a/wmu.se/wmu-streaming/
