WMU Welcomes Danish Shipping Director General & CEO

On 22 February, the World Maritime University (WMU) welcomed Ms Anne H. Steffensen, Danish Shipping Director General and CEO. The courtesy visit with Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of WMU, and senior management, provided the opportunity for Ms Steffensen to learn more about WMU’s educational programmes and research activities as well as to discuss areas of potential cooperation.

Mutually beneficial relationships between WMU as the preeminent maritime academic institution and the maritime industry are indispensable. Danish Shipping is a trade and employer organization with more than 90 shipowners and offshore companies. Half of the members of the organization own ships registered in Denmark, while the other half operate their activities from Denmark. Altogether, the members of Danish Shipping own around DWT 33 million, which add up to more than 95 pct. of the Danish merchant fleet flying the Danish flag.
