World Maritime University's Significant Visit to Piri Reis University

The President of the World Maritime University, Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, accompanied by WMU Professor, Dr Aykut Ölcer, visited the Piri Reis University (PRU) Tuzla Seaside Campus, in Istanbul, Turkey on 7 November 2016. She held discussions with Prof Dr Oral Erdogan, Rector of PRU, on issues of common interest and potential areas of cooperation between the two Universities.

The day also included a campus tour, visits to a range of modern and state-of-the-art facilities of the University and discussions with Faculty members and students. Dr Doumbia-Henry stated, “ The students at Piri Reis University are extremely fortunate to be able to enjoy such unique facilities, a stimulating academic environment with experienced faculty members and the most advanced technologies available to them. There is a healthy cohort of male and female students, which demonstrates that the maritime industry remains vibrant in Turkey and an attractive career option for young people.”
