Dr Vincent Power SC, partner, A&L Goodbody is the author of EU Shipping Law (Lloyd’s of London Press, a two volume set spanning 1900 pages and winner of the Comité Maritime International’s Albert Lilar Prize for the best shipping law book in the world during the previous five years).

He specializes in advising, advocating and litigating on shipping law, EU law, competition/antitrust law, merger control, regulatory/administrative law, transport law and EU commercial issues for public and private clients nationally and internationally.

Head of the firm's EU, Competition & Procurement Group which has won the “Competition Team of the Year” at the European Lawyer Awards. Vincent won the ILO Client Choice Award for the category of "EU Competition and Antitrust" across the EU and he has won the same award for Ireland multiple times – these awards are made by The International Law Office in recognition of a partner who excels across the full spectrum of client service. He has been listed in the first rank of the directories in his fields of expertise including being a thought leader in competition, State aid and transport law.

He is the current Chairman of the European Maritime Law Organisation and a Titular Member of the Comité Maritime International.
