Madeleine joined the World Maritime University in February 2024 as Assistant University Registrar (Student Services). Since January 2026, she has also served as Deputy Head of Accreditation Matters.

In her role as Assistant University Registrar, Madeleine oversees administrative operations that support the University's international student community. Her responsibilities include managing student welfare services, coordinating induction programmes, administering health insurance and student allowances, and maintaining key student support processes. She also contributes to the University's academic quality assurance efforts through the management of student evaluations and by ensuring alignment with Swedish higher education accreditation requirements. In addition, she serves as a key liaison with local authorities.

Madeleine brings experience from both international diplomacy and academia. Prior to joining WMU, she worked for the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in several foreign postings, and served as a Seconded National Expert at the European External Action Service in Brussels. She also has previous experience of higher education administration, working as a Programme Coordinator and Academic Advisor at Lund University.
