Prof. Mustafa Insel has graduated from Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering department of Istanbul Technical University in 1984, and had PhD Degree from University of Southampton in 1990. He has worked as a lecturer in Istanbul Technical University for 25 years, He has acted as Chairman of the board in Turkish Loyd between 2007 and 2011. He has been GBS auditor of IMO, and consultant in IMO- CARES. He has been lecturing in World Maritime University on Energy Efficiency in Ship Design since 2012. He is currently working as a consultant and he is partner in Hidroteknik Nautical Design Technologies Ltd advising Turkish Chamber of Shipping (DTO), Ship and Yacht exporters association, Port Operators Association (TURKLIM), and chairmen of technical and R&D committee of Shipbuilders Association (GISBIR). He is ART (Accredited Responsible, Technical), and Chairman in SWG9 on Underwater Radiated Noise of ASEF (Active Shipbuilding Experts Federation).
