Yusuke Mori served as a training instructor on several training ships of the Japanese Maritime Education and Training institution for 20 years. He graduated from the World Maritime University (WMU) with a Bachelor of Science, specializing in Maritime Education and Training in 2014, and received the C. P. Srivastava Award for International Fellowship. He was then assigned to the Section Chief of the Port State Control office headquarters in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and served for three years. He began serving as Deputy Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) in 2018. In 2025, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Maritime Affairs at WMU.
