Following the end of many years of civil war in Côte d'Ivoire, the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) has embarked on a nationwide environmental assessment at the request of the government of the country. UNEP has asked WMU to assist in the marine and coastal parts of this work and in the first phase experts from WMU completed extensive sampling in Abidjan Lagoon to assess the levels of contamination and prepare a Report. Professor Olof Linden is leading the work for WMU.
