Government of Australia Funds 10 New MSc Fellowships
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has just announced the generous grant of 10 new fellowships for qualified applicants from the South Pacific to join WMU's 14-month MSc in Maritime Affairs programme.
Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of WMU said: "We are immensely grateful for the generosity of the Australian Government, especially as the fellowship support is targeted on the South Pacific, a region that has been under-represented at WMU over the last 35 years. Australia is a strong advocate for the maritime interests of South Pacific nations and this partnership is an ideal way to enhance the technical, professional and leadership skills in the region."
Five fellowships are available to candidates joining the Class of 2019 in September 2018, and a further five for candidates joining the Class of 2020 in September 2019.
The Australian Fellowships are open to maritime professionals employed by the Governments of Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Samoa. Full information about the programme and its entrance qualifications is available on the WMU website, and applications should be made online at https://www.wmu.se/msc-malmo/apply. The application form for the employer to apply for financial support can be found on the same page, along with the blank forms for the candidates' motivational statements.
