Under the leadership of Professor Ronan Long, Director of the Institute, and Professor Clive Schofield, the Institute’s Head of Research, the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute sets out to seek answers and to build knowledge that facilitates the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean and its resources.
- As part of the the WMU Studies in Maritime Affairs book series, “The World of the Seafarer: Qualitative Accounts of Working in the Global Shipping Industry” (2021) partially addresses the need for a broader understanding of this sector and provides a detailed account of the industry as a complex jigsaw of globally dispersed elements.
